During the last decade, Henri has graded over a thousand commercials, music videos, short films, and feature films and has developed a distinctive meticulous style and a deep understanding of colors.

In 2019, Henri received an Honorable Mention for his talent as a colorist in the Finnish Commercial Film Awards.

Henri works on a powerful mobile workstation, which makes him flexible, and able to travel into where his expertise is required, whether it means creating looks real-time at shoots or working in the comfort of a grading suit. He also offers remote grading services across the word.

Henri has extensive knowledge of visual effects, which makes him a unique collaborator as he’s able to manipulate the colors on a more detailed level than usually in color grading. Henri is used to working on visual effects-heavy jobs and has collaborated with post-production houses like Industrial Light & Magic, The Mill, Embassy VFX, and Method Studios.

His clients include agencies like TBWA, mcgarrybowen, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, Leo Brunett, Ingo, and brands like Disney, Ikea, Nintendo, Abloy, Marvel, Under Armour, Genelec, Audi, Kia, Finnair, Nokia, Samsung, and many others.

Henri’s artistic journey started at the age of seven when his father sneaked him into a theatre to watch Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. In awe of the film, young Henri was inspired and dedicated to becoming a filmmaker.

Henri was interested in drawing and painting since his early childhood, and his interest in Hip Hop culture led him to graffiti art. Already at the age of fifteen, Henri won the Finnish graffiti championships twice in a row and became a well-known figure in the circuit. After his success, he painted numerous commissioned graffiti art pieces for bars, restaurants, and other venues, while teaching graffiti. During his mid-twenties, Henri worked on several large scale decorative paintings for private and public establishments. His hand-painted renovation cover for the Helsinki City Hall won the “Aesthetic Achievement of the Year” award.

During the ’90s, Henri’s artistic background and interest in computers led to experiments with visual effects and 3D animation on short films. At the turn of the millennium, Henri started working in commercials and became interested in color grading.

In 2007, when the first digital RED cameras were released, because of his technical knowledge, Henri became the first in Northern Europe to color grade the digital RED footage. Inspired by this, he dedicated his time to the more in-depth study of colors and started working as a full-time colorist.
